What is next for you in developing your executive leadership skills? Over the years, I've found executive leaders often come to terms with their learning needs and make their choices in late summer. Or, they postpone it yet again.

It's late summer, so this is an invitation not to postpone what you know would raise your game if you only took the time and put in the effort.

Here are three key areas sorely in need of attention overall in the executive leader world:

Executive Thinking. Increasing capacity to address complex opportunities and challenges, especially when the organization's vitality rests on you.

Executive Presence. Further development of your ability to listen, help and learn where adaptive moves confront you and the organization you serve. Executive presence includes emotional intelligence along with the capacity to engage executive thinking.

Process Design and Facilitation. The ability to use process consultation skills to address any of the above. An executive leader can raise their facilitative skill to the point that colleagues love coming to meetings.

Because of my long connection to Design Group International and the Society for Process Consulting, here are four possibilities for raising your game in thinking, being present, and designing/facilitating a process:

1. Society for Process Consulting Learning Summit - Lon Swartzentruber, CEO of Design Group International, joins me for this in-person event. Those who participate can earn a professional credential from the Society for Process Consulting.

2. Process Consulting - Process Consulting Methodology and Practice.

3. Core Competencies of Process Consulting - (Offering the specific course is not yet scheduled but it will be offered in the Summit featured above) Growing the Listening, Helping, and Learning competencies of Process Consulting. These competencies were recently detailed in the book by that name.

4. Maestro level leader cohorts - Four-year peer-based advising cohorts of 6-10 executives in the Third Turn of their leadership. Monthly half-day virtual cohort meetings combine with one to ones with an executive advisor and quarterly retreats. Together, the vital work of building future value, succession, and legacy are addressed.

And for your future thinking: we recently developed an executive Level course for the Society for Process Consulting covering the specific themes of executive presence, executive thinking, and using visuals to increase one's ability to communicate far more effectively. We expect to roll it out publicly in 2023 but can already bring it to executive teams who want to do some in-house training.

If you are interested in any of these, use the links I've sprinkled throughout this blog post. Otherwise, I enjoy hearing from people and would happily get you connected to the training that would raise your game.
