Let's be honest about how widely misunderstood and unintentional we are about governance.

As Kendra Fiscellis says in this episode, good governance requires intentionality. Excellence in governance will touch on recruitment, culture, continuous improvement, and communication, just as needed on the operational side.

If you don't care about operational excellence, you likely won't care about excellence in governance. If you do care about operational excellence, it won't necessarily translate to caring about governance. Mastering operational excellence does not mean you know how to govern. They are related yet separate aspects of organizational development.
