Society for Process Consulting Leadership transition

Dear friends of the Society for Process Consulting,

Thank you for your dedication to the field of Process Consulting. Your commitment to the inquiry and process approach to helping leaders and their organizations transform matters.

We want to share with you a leadership transition at the Society for Process Consulting. After six years at the helm, our fearless leader Kim Stezala, is stepping down as CEO.

Kim has faithfully led the Society since its founding in 2018 and is now rededicating more time to her long-standing career and passion for student access, equity, and success. Now more than ever, scholarship providers and the students they serve need a Process Consultant with Kim’s significant competencies and expertise.

Kim Stezala-1

In the fall of 2017, along with the Society’s co-founder Mark L. Vincent, Kim shared a vision for creating a place where individuals could be trained in the art of Process Consulting. Along with our thanks to Kim, we thank everyone who was involved in the creation of the Society. We could not have launched the Society without you!

Guided by Kim, the Society began offering coursework to practitioners in 2018 by hosting its first cohort class. That seminal course, Process Consulting Training 101 combines the tenets of Process Consulting as a vocation with the practical lessons of building a consulting business, launched the Society on an upward trajectory.

Over the next five years, Kim, the Society’s faculty, and our Standards and Ethics committee developed additional courses and credentialing programs that serve the entire field of Process Consulting. Since its inception the Society has trained over 300 practitioners in the art of Process Consulting. No small feat in six short years.

Under Kim’s leadership the Society now occupies center stage in training and certifying Process Consulting professionals. This position was solidified when in 2021 Mark L. Vincent and the Society published in The Core Competencies of Process Consulting. In writing the book’s forward Kim shared,

“With this book, written by Process Consultants for Process Consultants, we seek to accelerate learning in organizational development by providing hands-on lessons and examples from the field of Process Consulting. Our intention is to bridge academia with practical examples and connections to the real world, inspiring our readers toward continual learning and development of their craft.”

As Kim steps down from her role with the Society, she is still actively involved in the field of Process Consulting by helping organizations and their leaders transform for a vibrant future. We have asked our CEO Lon L. Swartzentruber to serve as interim CEO of the Society. In the coming months, he will lead a process to further expand the faculty of the Society and secure its next generation of leadership.

If you would like to learn more about the Society and how you can get involved and utilize the transformative power of Process Consulting, please contact Lon L.
