One of my intellectual heroes is the phenomenologist Alfred Schutz. My admiration comes from his immigrant story and because much of his research and teaching were avocational—something he was driven to do rather than because it earned the needed income. Given his life circumstances, he found a way to do what he best could do. He believed in something.

You will hear something like that in this conversation with Dawn Y Graber, not just in who she is and what she has to say. Even the method we used to pull this video together points to our belief in something we give ourselves to whether we earn income doing so or not. Given our life circumstances, we are finding a way to do what we best can do. We filmed this as I was out working with Clients, recording video from the front seat of my car. Dawn was in her office in between Client meetings. Dawn spends a lot of time working with women executives, especially. My time is for Third Turn Leaders who are working on future value, succession, and legacy.

We both believe that growing one's emotional intelligence is necessary as a baseline for executive and organizational growth. In the video, Dawn elaborates on how important this has become in the current enterprise landscape.

Dawn has done considerable work to add EQ development tools to her toolbox and mentions several of them in the video.
