Essential and Intentional Things Among the Demands
Episode #43 of the Third Turn Podcast with Phil Bergey

Philip C. Bergey is a second-time guest for this episode, having visited with us in Episode 29: “Managing Polarities.”  In this conversation, Phil shares perspective about essential and intentional things he’s gleaned from his recent deeper-dive into neuroscience.

Phil is an executive leadership coach, with more than 30 years of diverse leadership experiences across business, his family business, church, and ministry, as well as teaching in both university and seminary contexts, and facilitating peer-advisory groups.  A fellow process consultant with Design Group International and a committed lifelong learner, Phil hosts the “Leadership Meets Life” podcast which is intended to provide “about 20 mindful minutes” to help listeners grow.  Here’s a link to his 20-minute topics to date:

  1. Toilet Paper, Eagles & You - A Practical Intro to Systems
  2. Polarities & Conflict: Using Both-And Thinking to Lead (our Episode 29)
  3. Technically Speaking, It’s Adaptive - Tackling Challenges in a Changing World
  4. It’s the Transitions that Get You
  5. Immunity to Change - Dealing with Assumptions
  6. Leading from the Future
  7. What Do You Mean? Can I Trust You?
  8. If He Only Had a Brain
  9. Neuroplasticity: Firing and Wiring Together

Episodes 8 and 9 are where Phil starts sharing interesting perspective gleaned from neuroscience.  And because I’m a self-professed neuroscience geek, we have a fun chatting about that together!  Phil’s got a gift for helping us all--clients and podcast friends--think about things essential and intentional in practical, accessible ways.
