Insights from CEO peer-based advising

Posted by Mark L. Vincent on Apr 9, 2014 5:00:00 AM

convene_logoI'm writing this blog post as I finish my preparations for the next Convene Team meeting I will Chair.

I'm still savoring some of the key insights I know will grow from our common work:

---------

Reality is always your friend.

-Dr. Henry Cloud

---------

At the heart of the difference between Climbers and Campers and Quitters lies in what they do with adversity.

-Stoltz and Weihnmayer

---------

It's amazing how far people will go to help someone facing a challenge when that person (or company) has well-thought-through plans, communicates in advance, and shows they want to do right by people.

---------

Don't outrun your money, people or systems.

-John Zaepfel

--------

And all this before the wisdom we will share with each other as we work through our important business cases, and work at our personal excellence.

Every once a huge breakthrough occurs during this common work. Most of the time, though, it is the persistent, consistent and confidential life on life conversations around strong content and important scenarios that create the distance from where we are to where we want to go. That value gets proven again and again, especially as executive leaders find ways to reduce their isolation and keep on learning.

Do you need a Team like this? Do you know someone who needs a Team like this?
